Winter Weekend Getaway - Sugarbush/Mad River Glen, VT

March 8-11, 2024
(Note: This trip is Friday - Monday!)

With 111 trails across two mountains, three terrain parks, six peaks, sixteen lifts, nearly thirty wooded areas, the 2,000 acre Slide Brook Basin and a 2,600 vertical, there’s no question that Sugarbush is one of New England’s largest ski areas. Lincoln Peak Village offers many lodging and dining options, and serves as home base for many services like the Ski & Ride School and Rentals. The terrain at Lincoln Peak has something for everyone, from mellow groomers for beginners to the legendary terrain of Castlerock Peak, full of narrow, steep, and winding trails. Over at Mt. Ellen, the third-highest peak in Vermont, you’ll find steeps, wide-open cruisers, some great intermediate terrain, and our Riemergasse Terrain Park.

Whether at Mt. Ellen or Lincoln Peak, skiing in the trees delivers a brand new adventure. Twenty-eight wooded areas provide beginner to advanced tree skiing, and the 2,000-acre Slide Brook Basin acts as an adventurer’s paradise, tucked in between two mountains. Sugarbush amenities include multiple base lodges, resort lodging, onsite restaurants, retail and rental shops, and more.

Nearby Mad River Glen (MRG is not on the IKON pass) offers the most challenging and diverse ski terrain in New England. The only ski area in the nation on the National Register of Historic Places, MRG is like no other ski area in North America. The mountain is famous for its legendary expert terrain, but also features  picturesque and varied novice and intermediate trails and of course, the famous Single Chair. The extensive trail system follows the natural contours of General Stark Mountain to a single base area, making it easy for skiers of different abilities to ski together. An average of nearly 250 inches of natural snow each year combines with uncrowded slopes and a pristine mountain environment to create the unique Mad River Glen ski experience.

Lift tickets are now available at $98/per day (this is a group rate). You may select how many and which days when you choose the lift ticket "activity" while registering. These are "single day" tickets; the days do not need to be consecutive.

Mad River Glen (not on the IKON Pass)

MRG does not allow snowboarders.... skiers only, sorry. Read more about it at the link below (and the reasons are NOT what you might think!)

About the Mad River Glen Snowboard Policy

Mad River Glen is not part of the IKON Pass program. Those who are interested in skiing MRG must purchase a 1-day ticket from the MRG website (group rates are not available this season). PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL BE SKIING AT MAD RIVER GLEN ON SATURDAY, MARCH 9.

UPDATE - December 9: We have checked with Mad River Glen and unfortunately, they will not be offering discounted group lift tickets on the weekends this season. If you wish to ski with us at MRG on Saturday, March 9, you will need to purchase your own lift ticket:

Purchase your Mad River Glen lift ticket here.

Please be aware that MRG is now using "dynamic pricing" on their website - which means that the earlier you purchase your lift ticket, the cheaper the lift ticket will be.
