Watchung Amateur Ski Club
Season Finale Weekend Drive-Up Trip
Sugarloaf, Maine – March 18-21
Located northwest of Augusta in the Carrabasset Valley, Sugarloaf is the largest ski area in the East, and home to the only lift-serviced “above treeline” skiing and riding in the East. At 4,237 feet, its summit is the second highest in Maine and the singular point around which the Sugarloaf universe orbits. The mountain offers 1,230 acres served by 13 lifts that access a maximum vertical of 2,820 feet, with 153 runs that vary in difficulty from 25% easy to 30% moderate and 45% difficult. A day in Sugarloaf’s fabled Snowfields, and you’ll understand why Sugarloaf can feel more like a western skiing experience than anything you’ve seen this side of the Rocky Mountains! In addition, the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center is home to 60+ miles of groomed Nordic trails, an NHL-sized skating rink, plus miles of snowshoe and fat bike trails. Our accommodations will be slopeside (100 yards from the SuperQuad chairlift) at the Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel, the area’s signature lodging property located in the heart of Sugarloaf Village, with all the conveniences of a modern world-class resort.
