Join us for a a leisurely walk down Pleasant Plains Road to discover and point out the Spring migrants moving through, and any early Summer arrivals. Butterflies, turtles and frogs may also make appearances. For those of you who attended past walks, this is the same format, but with some different birds moving through. The Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, with its lush meadows, swamplands and open water pools offers some of the most inviting habitats for migratory birds to use as way stations to rest, stock up on energy and get ready to head on their way again. Dogs on leashes are welcome, but must stay on the roadway.
Denise Soppas, Susan Garretson Friedman, Charlie Friedman and Charlie Neiss will once again be your guides. Bring any binoculars you have. We will have extras to borrow as well.
For questions and/or more information, contact Charlie Neiss, 908-239-1319, cneiss59@gmail.com.
