Welcome to the Watchung Amateur Ski Club. As our name implies we are amateurs, but, the meaning of "amateur" as our founders meant it, is a person who loves or is greatly interested in something. Our club was founded in 1938 and has been going strong ever since.

   We are a group of enthusiastic people of all ages, races, and religions. Our common glue is a devotion to the sport of skiing, not watching, but actively participating. The experience of skiing is greatly enhanced when you can share your joy with others. Here is where Watchung Amateur Ski Club excels! We pride ourselves on our memorable club trips. We annually have bus trips to local ski areas in New York and Pennsylvania, and weekend and multi-day trips to Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine just to name a few. Once a year we have a week-long trip to the western US or Canada. Our grand event is the Club Outing where we hold a Club race.

   Our members skiing abilities range from raw beginners, seasoned beginners, intermediates, to seasoned experts. There are even a few professional ski instructors.

   Never skied or can't seem to get off the bunny hill? No problem! We have plenty of members willing and able to help.

   Our Club meets all winter in Mountainside, NJ where we have formal business meetings and not so formal social events. The average member has been active for over 10 years.

   Are you looking for some one to ski with? Are you looking for a new set of friends? Are you looking for a great time on and off the mountain, or looking to find a low key place to let your hair down and relax among friends? You have found the right club!

   We welcome new people with open arms and promise you will not be a stranger for long.
