The Watchung Amateur Ski Club (WASC) was incorporated in December, 1938 when a group of friends gathered together to establish a vehicle to make it easy to pursue an interest they had in common…….skiing. We are continuing this today as well as the other tradition set in motion by these friends, celebrating the end of the ski season with a banquet. The time for sitting down in friendship at a banquet to review and remember the season is just about here.
The ski season is winding down to an end. Nevertheless, summer activities will soon replace winter ones so WASC members will participate in other activities until the next ski season comes around. The banquet is a bridge between winter and summer events. It wraps up events from the winter and sets the stage for other happenings.
Since the banquet represents an important transition for WASC members, every member should come out to celebrate. Sixty-five years is a meaningful record. It is due to the participation of all of you over the years that WASC remains strong. So, please make every attempt to be there and be part of the WASC family. The long time members have many things to share with the newer ones. This is our opportunity to get to know those people who had the vision that made WASC what it is now. And, they can get to know the people who will carry WASC into the future.
By now you all should have received the informational flyer by e-mail or regular mail. Please take a few minutes to respond and make your banquet reservation. All of WASC should be there for the 65th year celebration. (If you need transportation to get to the event, please note that when you respond so we can assist.)
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you there on May 17.
