Sixty-five years ago, Watchung Amateur Ski Club was incorporated
with the purpose of promoting “cooperative spirit among its
membership.” Other purposes included “development of skiing and
skiing facilities,” sponsoring “free skiing instruction for its members
and elevating individual technique,” securing “discounts and skiing
facilities,” encouraging membership, encouraging competition with
other clubs, and providing a meeting place in order to be able to
come together and carry out these endeavors. Today, the Club is still
successfully doing these things.

The time of the year for our annual Outing and our Banquet is
quickly approaching. Both of these events attract active members who
normally participate in Club activities. But, there are members who,
for various reasons, don’t sign up for activities.

Since this is a milestone year for the Club, it would be delightful to
see as many members as possible involved in both of these events. It
would be a special privilege and honor to have representation of as
many of the original members as possible, along with the newer
members.

So, please make every effort to sign up for one or both of these events
yourself, and also contact other members and try to do something to
make it easy for them to attend. The “cooperative spirit among (the
Club) members” has been strong for sixty-five years. Let’s all get out
and continue that special tradition.

See you all at Bromley on March 16 and The Westwood on May 17.
